Kökjanggak (Көкжаңгак, also Kok-Jangak or Kok-Zhangak and Russian name "Кок-Янгак" (что в переводе с киргизского означает "Зеленый-Орех")) is a town of about 10,000 in the mountains of the Jalal-Abad Oblast of western Kyrgyzstan, near the regional centre city Jalal-Abad (Dzhalal-Abad).
Coal mining, which began in the area in 1916, has been a staple of the local economy, although production fell steeply after 1990.
