Just another sunday

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just Another Sunday is a song by American Hard Rock band Guns N' Roses. The song was recorded as a demo during the Use Your Illusion sessions but was never properly recorded or officially released because the rest of the band didn't think the melody of the song suited lead vocalist Axl Rose's singing style. The band also tried the song with rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin singing lead vocals although no demo of this version has ever been made public as far as many sources know.

[edit] Trivia

  • The song is based mainly on a Jazz piano piece played by Axl Rose while Izzy Stradlin plays bluesy lead licks over it.
  • The chorus is simply Rose repeating the line "Just Another Sunday" with ad libbed filler vocals between each repeat.
  • The demo version of the song is of decent quality but there is a significant amount of tape hiss when Rose raises his voice to a certain level.
  • When the demo became public, for an unknown reason in some circles the title was changed to Just Another Sunday (Strip Bar) probably by a fan wanting to add his own unique touch and hope the title caught on.
  • The song has also been wrongly titled Axl's Blues by others.
  • In the outro-chorus a female vocalist can be heard singing along with Rose.
