Jose B. Cruz, Jr. is a noted control theorist and a Distinguished Professor of Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ohio State University. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the recipient of Richard E. Bellman Control Heritage Award in 1994.
