José Luis Jerez Cerna (born June 26, 1978) is a chilean midfielder, who currently plays for Ethnikos Piraeus in Beta Ethniki (Second Division Greece). Jerez began his career with another chilean club Unión Española. His debut for Unión Española came in 1996. During the season of 1998, Jerez was loaned out to Primera B club Ñublense. He returned the following season to Unión Española where he spent six years appearing in 146 games and scoring 30 goals. In January of 2006, Colo-Colo coach Claudio Borghi decided to acquire Jerez to play midfield. Since joining the club, Jerez has won three championships and now there are rumors that he has offers to play football in New Zealand after the summer break.
