How come it was never renamed "Jonesboro" by the Board of Geographic Names? 81.153.111.87 13:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- It was. It was officially known as "Jonesboro" for a very long time, in fact, but the people there never liked it, and changed the spelling back to the original one in 1982. I remember when it happened. The town even made bumper stickers that said "Put the 'ugh' back in Jonesboro". Jsc1973 06:32, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Lede image
If anyone has a "skyline" photograph of Jonesborough, feel free to place it as the lede image, and move the courthouse to the gallery. I'm sure there are good angles from the surrounding hills, but I didn't have time to look for one. A photograph of a fancy "Welcome to Jonesborough" sign or similar entrance sign would also work.
