Was his father's name really spelled "Herald", as the article currently states? The name is usually "Harold". —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 03:42, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Some sources say he was born in 1928. His age is obvious in his pictures because he looks older than someone born in 1931 in any year. In addition, he graduated in 1952 from University and then went on to service. If he was born in 1931, he would have graduated from university later in 1955-6 and gone to service after 1955. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.29.77.82 (talk) 09:16, 10 April 2007 (UTC).

Cannot find evidence of Gavin ever being nominated for an Academy Award, as stated in the first sentence.
