Retrieved on 2007-12-12. — this apparently covers his substantive majority during WWI, preceded by being granted actign rank London Gazette: no. 30011, page 11167, 17 November 1916. Retrieved on 2007-12-12.. These both refer to him being employed by the Civil power (Indian Police?), rather than being on the staff. David Underdown (talk) 14:26, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
