John Cohen (baseball coach)

John Cohen was the head baseball coach at the University of Kentucky from 2004-08 and is the new coach at Mississippi State. He played college ball at Mississippi State after spending a single season at Birmingham Southern College in Alabama. He then spent two years in the Minnesota Twins farm system. He served as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri from 1992-97 before moving to Northwestern State University from 1998-2001, where he won two conference championships. He moved onto the University of Florida for two seasons as an assistant before accepting the head coaching job at Kentucky. On June 6, 2008, Cohen was announced as the head coach of his alma matter, Mississippi State.
