John S. Barnes, Jr. is a Republican member of the New Hampshire Senate, representing the 17th District since 2000. Previously he was in the Senate from 1992 through 1998, and was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1988 until 1992.
He won (without opposition) the New Hampshire primary for Vice President of the United States in 2008. [1]
