Jobourg is a commune in the Manche département of the Basse-Normandie region of Northern France
It has got around 1000 inhabitants on its commune. It is surrounded by moorland and is not far away from the Phare de Goury ("Goury lighthouse"), a very nice lighthouse 100 meters away from the Goury beach.
Jobourg has got one nice beach on its commune, the Baie d'Écalgrain ("Écalgrain Beach"). The average temperature of the sea is 20°C in summer. Quite fresh, but this beach has stunning looks.
One typical fête in Jobourg is the Fête des Moutons, a sheep festival that take place the first week-end of August. You will see border coolies taking care of geese, sheep contests...
About 200 meters from the village, you can find the CROSSMA, in charge to take care of the busy traffic in the Channel.
You can also have a walk on wonderful paths over the cliffs. You may even see wild cliff goats. Just be careful if you have children, the cliffs are really high and there is no security: Jobourg's land is still wild!
