[edit] Notability

Geeting's appear to be self-published and I can't find any reliable sources to support the press award claim (the ones I've found all seem to be author written type things). Anyone have more on this guy from independent third party sources? -- SiobhanHansa 12:32, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

The Wyoming Press Association presented the Pacemaker Award several times to Geeting for his column, "The Badge."

I added a reference... there are more, I'll put them up later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.123.143.166 (talk) 20:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't believe the WritersNet link counts as an independent third party source. That looks like a profile submitted by Geeting or his agent. -- SiobhanHansa 21:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Understandable. I'll try to find some others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.123.143.166 (talk) 21:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Do you know of anywhere that the Pacemaker awards were reported? In a Wyoming newspaper perhaps? I looked on the association website but couldn't find anything. It doesn't have to be online - we just need the full citation so someone else could look it up. If it's part of something bigger (an interview of Geeting or a review of his column) we might be able to use that to flesh out the article more too.
I also saw your comment about the first two books being published by McKenna. I think the award winning column is a bigger issue from a notability standpoint, but (absent any significant awards or book reviews) it also makes sense to give more prominence to the books published by a publishing house than the self published books. Does that sound reasonable? -- SiobhanHansa 12:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
