Jim Popp (born December 21, 1964 in Elkin, North Carolina) is the general manager of the Montreal Alouettes football club of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
One of the more successful general managers in the CFL of his generation, Popp has won two Grey Cups (1995 Baltimore Stallions, 2002 Montreal Alouettes.)
He has been the Als' general manager since 1996 has served two terms as the team's coach. The first time, he took over after management (Popp, team president Larry Smith, and owner Robert Wetenhall) fired Rod Rust in the midst of a long losing streak during the 2001 season. The second time, he took over on October 4, 2006 following the resignation of Don Matthews. While he remains in the position of General Manager, he was not retained as head coach after an 8-10 2007 season. [1]
