James H. "Jim" Miller is a former collegiate football coach at the University of Detroit and Boston College. He has a career record of 52 wins and 34 losses. Before going to Detroit he served 4 years as a defensive line coach with the Purdue Boilermakers, where he had played linebacker. After a successful 8-2, Miller signed a new 3 year contract with a substantial pay hike. On December 7, 1967, after a 4-6 record, he resigned as Eagles head coach.
