JELD-WEN is a corporation over 150 divisions and more than 20,000 employees worldwide. The company began in 1960 as a small Oregon millwork plant with 15 employees. Its headquarters are in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and the business manufactures building products which include windows, interior and exterior doors, and garage doors. The company owns several distribution facilities. Additionally, JELD-WEN operates several resort properties.

JELD-WEN's UK subsidiary was formed by the purchase of two British joinery companies from the Rugby Group plc: Boulton & Paul Ltd and John Carr Ltd. It also purchased part of the Magnet Group and have a Door Manufacturing site at Penrith, Cumbria.

In Australia JELD-WEN have several subsidiary companies, these include Stegbar, Regency, William Russell, Corinthian Doors and Airlite.

JELD-WEN is notable for its involvement in professional golf. The company is the primary sponsor of The JELD-WEN Tradition, which is one of the five Champions Tour major championships. In July 2006, it was announced that JELD-WEN would also become a major sponsor of the The Players Championship, an event on the PGA Tour sometimes referred to by the media as the "fifth major."

JELD-WEN sponsors the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL ( Australian football league) it is the main sponsor of the club and the club says it is a major step forward and brings a lot of excitement with it.

JELD-WEN sponsors the Stone Brothers Racing Team in the Australian V8 Supercar series, in particular the number 4 car driven by James Courtney. They have sponsored this car since 2006. They also sponsor Marcos Ambrose who is currently driving in the US Nascar Nationwide Series.
