Jegunovce (Macedonian Cyrillic: Јегуновце) is one of the larger villages in the Polog Valley, Republic of Macedonia. It is located about 10mi (15km) northeast of the Macedonian city of Tetovo. It is the center of the Jegunovce municipality.
[edit] History
Jegunovce began to grow from a village to a small town after WWII, when the new Yugoslavia government, under Josip Broz Tito, began building a massive metallurgical plant, that worked mostly with chrome. The plant was named JUGOHROM, and was one of the biggest employment plants in all of Yugoslavia.
A note to the last sentence:
- The factory JUGOHROM was renamed in SILMAK, a.k.a "Silni Makedonci" :) (this was just a joke!). Now, this same factory has been closed, because of the factor of electricity power problems; The chiefs of above mentioned factory hasn't agreed with the Government of Republic of Macedonia for buying-paying electricity from the New* platform of the Government, named Free Electricity Market, and so, the result of the whole situation was: extingueshed stoves. Now, the last-rest people who worked there, over 500, are at home, and waits for their resignations.
