[edit] Need more sources

I'm not sure I trust the ref I originally used (ref 5 in the current version)--did Stephens operate a ferry in East Portland, Oregon City, or both? Did he really have a hand in Pacific Telegraph Company? It's not the same one the article is about, is it? Katr67 (talk) 03:16, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

The Dict. of Oregon History says yes, and going by his other business interests it seems plausible. Though maybe not the company linked to, as there may have been more than one by the same name. The Oregon City ferry though seems less likely since his history is tied up with East Portland. I'm wondering if people though of the Stark Street Ferry as the OC ferry since I'm sure a lot of the traffic was for people going between the two places.
