Jack Randall (born 1988) is an English actor.
He was born in Oxford, 31 July 1988.[1] He attended Stowe School, a British boarding school in Buckinghamshire, and as of 2008 attends St. John's College, Oxford, reading Biological Sciences.
Randall played Midshipman Boyle[2] in the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.[3] Whilst on set in Mexico, he became friends[citation needed] with Russell Crowe, who played the film's title character. On learning that the fourteen-year-old[4] was to have a professional chaperone, Crowe volunteered to fulfill the role[5].
Randall is passionate about wildlife conservation. In 2003 Crowe introduced him to Steve Irwin,[4][5] who offered the youth a summer apprenticeship at his Australia Zoo. As of 2008 Randall has continued to visit and work at the zoo; and offers to support the zoo's work for the protection of wildlife. Randall also supports the Free the Bears Fund, and has worked at one of their rescue centres in Cambodia.
