Ivan Joseph Crasto

Colonel Ivan Joseph Crasto was an officer in the Indian Army in the Parachute Regiment. He was a trained Para Commando.

In the early 90s, Crasto , then a Major rescued several tourists from a stranded Cable car[1] in what has been known as the Timber Trail Rescue. He was awarded the Kirti Chakra for his act of gallantry.

He retired as a Colonel and is settled in Goa.
