Category:Italian Baroque painters

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The assignment of painters to stylistic periods is somewhat arbitrary. This category gathers the names of painters who fit the following criteria:

    1. Time - Mainly active during c. 1600 - c. 1800; it could be dated as beginning with the PC era, or that post-Carracci or post-Caravaggio.
    2. Place - Active or born or trained in what is or is considered historic Italy.
    3. Manner - Worked in a style influenced, directly or indirectly, by either the Caracci or by Caravaggio and in a style not clearly recognized as Neoclassicism.
