Talk:Ioquake3

I think ioq3 is very notable, it's the leading id-Tech 3 project that's become the defacto standard base for all others. Just Google link:ioquake3.org. --IneQuation.pl (talk) 16:24, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
"The ioq3 project was started by Ryan "icculus" Gordon, shortly after the release of the original Quake III version 1.32 source code release by id Software. He was joined by many well-known figures from the Quake engine modding community.[citation needed] Icculus currently only maintains a mentor role and provides the web services necessary to run the project (mainly the mailing lists and the SVN repository)."
Actually, the ioq3 project was started by Zachary Slater (myself, which is the reason why I'm not editing this article.) Though the second part is true excepting the web services part (I host the site, ryan does run the SVN and hosts the mailing services and has been an incredible help in all things). Tim Angus and Ludwig Nussel have been there for just about ever, doing the real thinking and programming work on it since. --TimeDoctor (talk) 23:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for that, Zach, I've made corrections.
I don't understand why the claim it's a de-facto standard is continuously questioned. Look around for free id Tech 3-based games, they've all turned to ioq3 by now. I think this situation perfectly fits the definition of a de-facto standard, since it's not sanctioned but widely used. --IneQuation.pl (talk) 21:08, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem, is there any way to make the page "ioquake3" instead of "Ioquake3"? --TimeDoctor (talk) 11:14, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
