Institute Of International Languages Multimedia University (ILMU) began as a Language Department at the Centre for Foundation Studies and Extension Education (FOSEE), Multimedia University (MMU) in 1997. Later, as the department grew, it was renamed Modern Languages Unit in 2001 and now, proudly stands as an Institute for International Languages Multimedia University (ILMU).
ILMU initially offered English language courses for pre-university/matriculation students and then gradually expanded to include faculty subjects under ILMU wings. Apart from English-based courses, Bahasa Malaysia and Japanese subjects were also offered. Currently, our range of courses also include full-time intensive English Language programmes for international students, language short courses, workshops and seminars.
Courses given to the students insights and prepare them for learning a language in either a second language or foreign language environment. The various programs emphasize the development of critical thinking skills, effective delivery of ideas and comprehension of literary works, both oral and written. The courses are designed to meet individual needs and personal objectives.
