LIMA is an association of record labels and fm radios in Indonesia. The name LIMA is an acronym of Lembaga Industri Musik Indonesia. Founded and created in 1975, its original use was to introduce and promote songs from record labels on the radio. The first FM radio station to join LIMA was Prambors Radio. LIMA is notable for being one of the first commercial corporations to promote and broadcast many new songs to the Indonesian public for the first time. Until 1986, the association was responsible for determining the official charts for albums and songs in Indonesia. In May 1986, LIMA appeared for the first time in the popular teen magazine Gadis, a major publication aimed at young women. The first #1 song to be published was "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" by Whitney Houston and the first #1 album was "Koes Ploes" by Koes Ploes. As of 2007, there are 15 record labels and 28 FM radio stations associated with LIMA, with revised charts being compiled every Saturday.
LIMA is the official provider of top artist and music chart information for the Republic of Indonesia. As yet, LIMA does not have an official website. Official, revised music charts are published weekly in Indonesian magazines and daily newspapers throughout the country.
For singles chart, is the combination of Radio Airplay & Digital Sales as of 2005.
