There are about 65,000 persons of Indian origin settled in Thailand mainly in the cities. Many of them arrived in the last century, notably from Punjab and some from Gujarat. A Tamil community has been around since 1860s.
Buddhism and Hinduism arrived here from India and got established over the years.
