Index Point
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Index Point () is a low, ice-covered point that forms the east extremity of the Mountaineer Range on the coast of Victoria Land. The feature lies at the terminus of Mariner Glacier, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of Emerging Island. So named in 1966 by New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee (NZ-APC) because the shape is suggestive of an index finger.
