[edit] Introduction to why the TRNC is pointless
I don't get the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I don't understand its existance. What is it for? No one benefits from it. It only causes problems. Isn't it time it came to an end and the island should be reunited. Surely it would be better if it was reunited as having two countries on and island, one de jure and one de facto causes problems for everyone.

 Cyprus Cyprus does not benefit from the TRNC. This because it has lost part of its land. It has lost 264,000 of its population. So this damages Cyprus's economy, as their is a lack of income, tax ect. Damaging Cyprus's potential GDP if it were to be united. So it would most likely be a lot richer if there the island was united. So because of the TRNC, Cypriots are poorer as there isn't a single economy on the island. TRNC The Turkish Cypriots get to control themselves. But at what cost? They are now internationally isolated from the rest of the world except Turkey. So this i seriously going to damage trade, the "countries" economy, therefore the people in TRNC are going to be poorer than they should be. So this is really not good for the ethnic Turks on the island. Turkey Turkey doesn't benefit from the TRNC. Since they have physically installed this ethnic Turkish puppet government on the northern part of the island, this has damaged Turkey's relations. It is affecting Turkeys EU membership. So if they dissolved the TRNC, they would be richer as they would get into the EU sooner therefore this will really benefit Turkeys economy making the county richer and making its citizens better off. However because Turkey is maintaining the TRNC, they are economically loosing out.
So no country involved benefits from the existence of the TRNC. So why have it?

It is fair to argue that the TRNC is all about Greek nationalism and Turkish nationalism.
