Ifo Island
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ifo Island () is a low rocky island 0.2 miles (0.3 km) southeast of Helene Island at the west end of Geologie Archipelago. Photographed from the air by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946-47. Charted and named by the French Antarctic Expedition under Liotard, 1949-51. Ifo is the phonetic spelling of "il faut," a much-used expression by the French Antarctic Expedition meaning "one (you) must."
