Iain Russell (born 14 November 1982) is a Scottish semi-professional footballer currently playing at centre-forward for Greenock Morton in the scottish Football League.

He was previously at Rangers[1], although he did not feature for the first team, and has played for Motherwell and Dumbarton.

Russell struggled with a hamstring injury throughout the opening period of his Brechin career, but two goals against Stranraer on 28 October 2006 at Glebe Park saw him open his account. He is currently the seasons top scorer with 15 goals to his name.

On Saturday 4 November, Russell added to his tally with a headed goal against Forfar Athletic to open the scoring in a game which Brechin eventually won 2-1.

Russell is currently working his way through a quantity surveying degree at Glasgow Caledonian University.

In February 2007 Russell signed a new contract with Brechin City [2] but left for Greenock Morton in August 2007 for an undisclosed fee. [3]
