- Dark spot on skin also know as Hyperpigmentation can begin to surface on your skin where acne pimple once resided. These are caused by condition known as "post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation" brought upon by overproduction of melanin (naturally occurring pigment in your body) in a reaction to inflammation[1]. Changes in skin color can result from outside causes. For example, skin diseases such as acne may leave dark spots after the condition clears. Other causes of dark spots are injuries to the skin, including some surgeries. [2]. .

Since those links were used as references, I converted them to web reference format and moved them in to a new "References" section. The new text, however appears to be a copyright violation of the referenced sites. The Rod 18:48, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
My appologies, I'm new to editing. I was under the impression that you could take couple of sentences directly from a site as long as you credit them with a link. Please don't shoot me..lession learned. What is the correct way of direclty quoting from a site?--Funmaan 21:09, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if the {{copyvio}} tag seems harsh. I didn't realize the content was intended as a quotation. Quotations are usually reserved for famous quotations about the topic or for quotations from sources considered to be one of the few authorities on the topic. Otherwise, it is better not to quote the source but, instead, to rewrite the content in your own words and to cite the source. Doing so complies with copyright laws. To include a short direct quotation, however, use quotation marks ("like the ones around this phrase"). To include longer quotes (similar in length to the content you included), put them in an intented paragraph (beginning with ":" to indent). The Rod 21:35, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
