Hyatt Place

In August 2004 the Blackstone Group paid $800M to acquire Prime Hospitality. One of the acquired brands was the AmeriSuites hotel chain. Global Hyatt purchased the AmeriSuites brand in December 2004 and started renovations and re-branding to Hyatt Place in early 2005. Over one hundred Hyatt Place hotels are planned to be completed by the end of 2007. The first four are located in Chicago[1], Scottsdale[2] and Atlanta (one at the airport[3] and one at the Perimeter Centre[4]).

Hyatt Place is a select service offering. Its main differentiators include a number of high tech self-service facilities, and free wireless connectivity throughout all the hotels. The rooms include forty-two inch televisions, office desks, double beds and have the facilities to allow visitors to integrate laptops, DVD players, and MP3 players with the plasma TVs. Also, a hot breakfast buffet is available for a nominal fee. The accommodation is targeted primarily at business travelers and is similar to Courtyard by Marriott and Wingate Inn by Wyndham.

The design and stylings of the hotel have a modern European flare.
