Hunan Satellite Television (simplified Chinese: 湖南电视台卫星频道; pinyin: Húnán diànshìtái wèixīng píndáo), is the satellite television network of its parent Chinese language broadcasting company Hunan Television. Unlike its parent company, Hunan Satellite Television broadcasts to audience abroad. It was formed on January 1, 1997 by consolidating Hunan Television's satellite broadcasting assets. The network is based in Changsha, Hunan province.

Hunan Television, the network's parent company, first aired on October 1, 1970 as a local television station. It expanded its network through satellite television on January 1, 1997.

Hunan Satellite Television has broadcasted notable programming such as Super Girl, often referred to as the Chinese version of the United Kingdom's Pop Idol.[1] As of 2008, it is airing the Chinese version of Strictly Come Dancing, a co-production with TVB.
