[edit] Old comments
Whatever happened to the band? They were on the top of the world in the mid-9180s and then disappeared, from what I remembered. I also wonder if bands with more than 5 members have short shelf lives.
- Well, follow the links at the end of the entry and it is pretty easy to see what the band does these days. Yes, they are alive and kickin'.
Do we really need to state that the band was popular with baby boomers and yuppies? Can that be backed up? What is the source?
[edit] Spoof removed
This was in the history section:
"For a brief period in the summer of 1987 an 18 year old Carl Ringdahl-Berg filled in for 2 months of their world tour. He replaced Chris Hayes who had fallen ill and could not play the dates. Huey Lewis called Carl 'The best guitarist he had ever met.' He is also rumoured to have written 'If This Is It', a hit single of their album 'Sports'. He has now gone on to form The Intentions and continues to play stadiums throughout the world. He has recently embarked on a world tour with this band."
"Carl Ringdahl-Berg" does not Google. "Carl Erik Peter Ringdahl Berg" hits a MySpace page of a young man (apparently) who may be spoofing us or being spoofed by another, but who probably did not write "If This is It" when he may have been 13, since it is attributed to Colla and Lewis on the 1983 release of Sports. --Hjal 05:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Band name
[edit] "And" v. "&"
The band's name is printed on the albums as "Huey Lewis And The News", not "Huey Lews & The News". Why is the article titled using the "&"? — Shinigami Kamenzi 12:57, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The (the)
Why does Huey Lewis & the News redirect to this page, rather than the other way around? --Wolfer68 (talk) 18:55, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Live/Dead Indicator LIVE
The album covers actually vary in their style of the band's name. Some are title case, some are all upper case. Some use "and" and others use "&". They use both "the" and "THE", but not "The".
The album covers linked to from the article go like this:
- Huey Lewis & the News (album) Huey Lewis and the News
- Picture This (album) Huey Lewis AND THE NEWS (hard to read)
- Sports (album) HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS
- Fore! HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS (shot at my high school)
- Small World (album) Huey Lewis & the News
- Hard at Play Huey Lewis and the News
- Four Chords & Several Years Ago HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS
- Time Flies... The Best of uses both [huey lewis & the news and HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS
- Plan B (album) HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS
- Live at 25 HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS
- Greatest Hits HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS
But, the band's site uses "HUEY LEWIS & The News" for the banner (small caps for Huey's name and a capital "T"). In the text, they seem to use "Huey Lewis and the News" the most, or "HLN".--Hjal (talk) 07:46, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't care about "and" or "&" as I've noticed they have used both on their album covers, although Sports and Fore! use "AND" (it's boxed and vertical) not "&". My comment on using "the" over "The" was just a wiki-pedia standardization question not a band use question. --Wolfer68 (talk) 17:19, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tower of Power
I don't think the Tower of Power horn section should be considered members of the original band. They were featured on many of their albums and toured with them for a bit, sure, but they're Tower of Power not News.69.107.74.195 (talk) 08:48, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
