HMS Harvester (H19)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HMS Harvester was classed as an H class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She was launched by Vickers-Armstrong in 1939. She was renamed Harvester as her original name of Handy was too liable to be confused with HMS Hardy. Harvester and HMS Highlander (H44) sank U-32 in October, 1940,[1] and Harvester and HMCS Ottawa (H60) sank the Italian Marcello class submarine Faa di Bruno in November.[2] Harvester was torpedoed in 1943 by U-432 shortly after ramming U-444 while escorting convoy HX-228.[3]
