Hitachinaka (ひたちなか市 Hitachinaka-shi?) is a city located in Ibaraki, Japan.
As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 155,354 and the density of 1,570 persons per km². The total area is 99.04 km².
The city was founded on November 1, 1994, after the cities of Katsuta and Nakaminato were consolidated together.
