[edit] Some cleanup suggestions
I've spotted a few things that need to be expanded upon, but I don't have time to do the digging right now so I'll leave them for whoever wants it. There should be more about the major 2005 annexation that brought in the huge tract of land to the west, and how this came after a near-20 year slump in major residential development (the end of which was marked when work began on Willowgrove, The Willows and The Hamptons). I'd use caution on listing the names of proposed communities as many of those names are just placeholders, although Rosewood is apparently keeping its assigned name. There should also be more added about the "urban reservation" controversy - the fact that large regions of Saskatoon are being bought out by First Nations interests (most recently a good chunk of Avalon). I also spotted a possible error in the reference to the Earl station; if it's 3 miles south of the exhibition grounds, then it cannot be CN Industrial today; 3 miles places Earl about 2 miles south of Furdale. Even taking into account the former exhibition grounds location on 11th Street, 3 miles still doesn't work. This needs to be checked. 23skidoo 18:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually, CN Industrial is just over 2.5 miles south of the 11th Street exhibition grounds (which were still in use in 1904), so that's about right, except that on all the maps (even from 1905) the station there is called "Nutana". I agree completely that sections on the Blairmore/West Sector development and urban reserves (especially since Saskatoon pioneered the concept) is necessary, although I'm not quite sure what the "controversy" is, as the City is a partner in their development. 10% of Saskatoon's population is First Nations; why shouldn't they own 10% of the land? On second thought, now that I've written a section on urban reserves, it really belongs in the Saskatoon article proper, not this one; so that's where I've put it. Mr Death 11:20, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
