[edit] Continuation of the article
The article could continue introducing the Spanish/Hispanic history in each state of the US. I will deal mainly with the Spanish and Mexican period, other people may be interested in contributing and expanding it until the present time. Veritas et Severitas 15:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
I am just cutting and pasting the history sections from the different States. I think that more elaboration on the Hispanic presence would be required in each case, more from a Hispanic perspective, especially the Mexican period, but at least it is a start. [edit] History - Latinos and Hispanics
Please contribute to make this historical-type article inclusive of all groups of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States. I would love to see this article one day be somewhat comparable to the great article on African American history. --JuanMuslim 1m 02:20, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merge or what?
This is redundant with History of Hispanic people in the United States. Which is itself more detailed. I suggest this be made into a redirect to that page.--Jersey Devil 02:27, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. It either needs to expand to a global perspective or be merged. Pairadox 01:12, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is that Latino and Hispanic aren't interchangeable terms. Brazilians, for example, are considered Latinos but they are not considered Hispanic. However, Hispanics are Latinos. Maybe there could be a merge with the new article's title mentioning Latinos. --JuanMuslim 1m 21:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have merged the two articles since there were no objections. --JuanMuslim 1m 05:15, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Requested move
- Neutral. I support either title - History of Latinos and Hispanics -or- History of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States. --JuanMuslim 1m 01:15, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Support I support a move to History of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States as it is a more accurate title name.--Jersey Devil 18:36, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Support "History of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States" is exactly what this article is. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 14:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Strong Support - the title should be descriptive of the content, as is it may be tagged Globalize. I'm doing the move. The Ogre 18:11, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hispanics in the United States - requested move
Hello everyone. There is at present a discussion going on at Hispanics in the United States, due to the request that the page be moved to Hispanic Americans. Would you like to comment please? Thank you. The Ogre 18:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wow
It's a very interesting article. However the topic seems like it might be a little big for just one encyclopedia article. Especially since it kind of stops back at the California Revolution. If it continued at the same pace to the present day imagine how long it would be. Northwestgnome (talk) 13:51, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
