The article could continue introducing the Spanish/Hispanic history in each state of the US. I will deal mainly with the Spanish and Mexican period, other people may be interested in contributing and expanding it until the present time. Veritas et Severitas 15:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

I am just cutting and pasting the history sections from the different States. I think that more elaboration on the Hispanic presence would be required in each case, more from a Hispanic perspective, especially the Mexican period, but at least it is a start. [edit] History - Latinos and Hispanics

Please contribute to make this historical-type article inclusive of all groups of Latinos and Hispanics in the United States. I would love to see this article one day be somewhat comparable to the great article on African American history. --JuanMuslim 1m 02:20, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

This is redundant with History of Hispanic people in the United States. Which is itself more detailed. I suggest this be made into a redirect to that page.--Jersey Devil 02:27, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

The problem is that Latino and Hispanic aren't interchangeable terms. Brazilians, for example, are considered Latinos but they are not considered Hispanic. However, Hispanics are Latinos. Maybe there could be a merge with the new article's title mentioning Latinos. --JuanMuslim 1m 21:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

It's a very interesting article. However the topic seems like it might be a little big for just one encyclopedia article. Especially since it kind of stops back at the California Revolution.
