I have just undertaken a major edit of the Heron Island article, with the intention of presenting the information more efficiently whilst accommodating the pictures, and have also added some new info and removed factual inaccuracies. BrightLights 07:35, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Removed: "A number of buildings, including the station's research laboratories and part of the staff accommodation, were destroyed in the blaze, which fire investigators said was caused when an oxygen tank exploded." (UQ News Australia) [1]

As the link to UQ news makes no mention of an exploding oxygen tank.

Removed: However, recent reports coming from the island reveal that the cause of the accident is as yet unknown and the Arson Squad are still on the island investigating what has been labeled a crime scene.

Speculation and heresay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.88.235.154 (talk) 13:57, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cyclones

The island has been in the path of a number of cyclones that have caused serious damage. I would suggest that including major storm names, dates and repair costs to the history section would be appropriate. - Shiftchange (talk) 10:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Needs a bit of a cleanup

I think this article would benefit from the addition of an infobox, similar to the one of the Dunk Island article. A photo or two may need to be removed, but there are plenty in this article already. A few sections could also do with the addition of more references. The flora and fauna section is excellent though. Toytown Mafia (talk) 15:00, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
