Talk:Herbert Road

Article says it is in Sandymount, Category link says it is Ballsbridge. Need to decide... And should one non-notable road have its own WP article?? Dublin contains over 2,000 roads/streets...
[edit] Streets
Hi. My understanding is that areas where people live are usually deemed notable; certainly this applies to small hamlets with rather less population than Herbert Road (I've created several such articles myself). I guess if someone wants to build up an encyclopedic geography of Dublin the "Streets of Dublin" category is legit. The argument is about the notability of each street rather than claiming that streets cannot be notable per se.
So...Herbert Road. Category issue: Obviously a road can easily pass through two or more suburbs or areas; take the South Circular Road for instance. I'd have to look at a map but I'd guess Herbert Road is probably in both Sandymount and Ballsbridge; two notable schools, Sandymount High and Marian College (Ballsbridge) have entrances off Herbert Road, side by side. So the best solution would be to categorise it in both suburbs.
Notability; the presence of these well-know schools (one now closed) - surely that alone is enough to make the road notable? (Sarah777 16:54, 16 June 2007 (UTC))
This is tempting to merge away but it does lie between two areas. I suggest that most streets and roads are not notable, whoever or however many lives on them. But maybe this one has enough to survive. 86.134.201.157 20:17, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
