[edit] Conference Names pre-1969

Before consolidation, there were indeed conferences. The "down state" schools were either in the Henlopen conference (Delmar, Clayton, Bridgeville, Harrington, Millsboro, etc.) or the Diamond State conference (Laurel, Seaford, Dover, Middletown, Georgetown, Smyrna, etc.). The upstate schools were in the Blue Hen conference.

The champions listed were champions of the Henlopen conference. Also, during these years, Middletown was dominant in the Diamond State conference.

What was meant is that there were not subdivisions in the Henlopen Conference, i.e. Henlopen North and Henlopen South with seperate champions.
