Henri Michel (born October 29, 1947 in Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône) is a former French footballer, who played as a midfielder and later went on to coach various national teams. In 2005, he helped Côte d'Ivoire qualify for their first-ever appearance in a world cup at the 2006 World Cup, he resigned from the post after the 2006 World Cup.
Previously, he managed the French national team, guiding it to a third-place finish in the 1986 World Cup. In 1994 he managed Cameroon; from 1995-2000, he managed Morocco; and from 2001-2002, Tunisia. He was fired from the Tunisia job after the 2002 African Cup of Nations, despite qualifying the team for the 2002 World Cup. His last job had been the manager of the Morocco national football team after coaching the Egyptian club Zamalek, however, a poor showing resulting in a first round exit at the Africa Cup of Nations 2008 resulted in his sacking from the post as of 7 February 2008.
