I love ships, and I'd love to see old United States brought back to her former glory, but slapping links to the yahoo group on any article related to the US merchant marine is not productive. I encourage you to participate in improving articles here; I can personally direct you towards many merchant ship articles in need of work, and you're welcome to join WP:SHIPS as well.
