Hedd Wyn is a 1992 Welsh-language Welsh film written by Alan Llwyd and directed by Paul Turner. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Actor Huw Garmon played the title role (Ellis Evans/Hedd Wyn). The film is based on the life of Welsh poet Hedd Wyn and starkly contrasts the lyrical beauty of the poet's native Meirionnydd with the horrors of the First World War trenches.
