Hi! I have noticed you making a lot of edits to the Sheffield United article. A group of us who are working on Sheffield-related articles have got together to form Wikipedia:WikiProject Sheffield in the hope of fostering better collaboration between editors (hopefully resulting in better articles). I have removed the speedy tags from the Claude Davis article, I have given my reasons on the talk page, it would be good to cite the sources you used for the article too. Hi there. Minor apology - I recently asked on Wikiproject Football about what should be done about the articles Joe Shaw (footballer) and Joe Shaw (soccer) - as you created the latter article I should have alerted you to it, and I didn't. Sorry. To prevent confusion between the two Joe Shaws I have moved the article about the Blades defender to Joe Shaw (Sheffield United) and updated all incoming links, including the one on your userpage; it was only when I did that did I realise I'd forgotten to consult you. Hello to a fellow Blade. Not entirely sure if I've put these comments in the right place, but thanks for the work you've done on the Sheffield United page. I created the Tony Currie and Keith Edwards articles as you may know and I see you've added well to them, especially on the TC page. A shame the photos of Tony and Keith were removed though. Hello Steve, yes your comments are welcome here. Thank you for your kind words. When I first joined Wikipedia, I saw your articles on Currie and Edwards and I was very much impressed with them. I agree, it is a pity about the images. I guess one way is to use Wikipedia Fair use, this image is one example.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:George_Best.jpg this was uploaded in Oct 2005 and is still around – I think its just a question of getting the correct licensing for the image. Heya. Just a note to say that you left out an important bit of code in the above article: when citing a reference, you forgot to close the citation with </ref>. If you miss that, nothing after the citation will actually appear on the page, so it can be quite annoying for readers. [edit] Birthplace and manual of style

Hi, I see you undid my revert on Jordan Robertson so that his birthplace is now listed twice in the same article. Birthplaces should not be in the brackets with the date of birth, and there is definitely no need for it to be in there twice (it starts the next paragraph - I'm not referring to the one in the infobox in case you think that's what I was getting at). Thank you for pointing this out. Apologies for reversing your post, I wasn’t aware of these guidelines for editing when the info-box is present. I shall remember and apply these guidelines to my future posts. Can I just enquire.. If there is no info-box, should the Birthplace be included in the main article? Just so I know in future. Hi, glad to be of help, and thanks for taking my message the helpful way it was intended. It's not actually anything to do with the infobox. The manual of style is such that the birthplace goes in the text, but not in the same brackets as the date of birth. If you look at the Jordan Robertson article, him being born in Sheffield is mentioned in the second paragraph - that was what I meant by you having it twice (technicallly it was three, but I wasn;t counting the infobox). Just to let you know that I have moved moved Jack Smith (soccer) to Jack Smith (footballer born 1910). There have been several footballers called Jack Smith, and the year of birth seems about the best way to distinguish them. I’d just like to know what you feel the best way the divide up the Career section is, by Club, by season, not at all or some other way. Thanks kindly for the barnstar, I will wear it with pride. With a few more citations in the history section, I should be able to put West Bromwich Albion F.C. up for peer review soon. The Bryan Robson article has a fair way to go, but if you can make any contributions they would be welcomed... although the way he's going, his section as Sheff Utd manager will be exceedingly short. As a Blades fan, any chance you may be able to get an image or two of Robson? The one in the article is OK, but that tracksuit! I've also been doing a bit of work on Battle of Bramall Lane, a game I attended. It needs a lot more work, but would be good if we could collaborate on it to ensure NPOV. --Jameboy 22:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. I’ll see if I can add a little to the Sheffield United section of the Bryan Robson article. Getting a picture would be trickier - perhaps when he's in the car park. I used to see quite a bit of Neil Warnock coming and going, but I haven't seen Robson yet!. I was also at the Battle of Bramall Lane match, but we were probably at the other ends of the ground. I remember it well. I will take a look at the article. Hi,

The members of WP Football keep getting their knickers in a twist about wanting to delete the Sheffield United project (or subsume it into some taskforce thing). (See here) I've headed them off at the pass so far but more views and consensus on the Blades project page might be of help.
