Welcome!

go!

This one is going to be messy. It is owned by the group, but is operated by Mesa Airlines. We need to keep information in the least number of places. I did move most of the text from the Mesa Airlines article, but then realized something needs to remain there. I add something back in. Vegaswikian 07:28, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I agree, we'll definitely need to keep an eye on the situation to see how they work things out. Earlier announcements had made it sound like it would be another airline in parallel with Mesa, Freedom, etc., but then an article somewhere (saw it last night, don't remember where at this particular moment) said it would be operated by Mesa Airlines. Once they get going hopefully we'll get a better idea of how they're operating. As long as Mesa Airlines operates their flights then I think they need a mention there, and they definitely need a mention on the Mesa Air Group page. But most of the specific information, especially once they are actually flying, should go on the go! page. -- Hawaiian717 16:24, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the fix... I feel stupid now... It was February when I made my entry in the talk page about Blue and Purple being in service with Red in the shop after talking to a Cast Member... ;)

Speedy deletion

I noticed that you tagged the page Raider Painting Company for speedy deletion with the reason "no assertion of notability". However, "no assertion of notability" is not a criteria for speedy deletion with respect to companies, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 10:01, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Revert on Danger Hiptop

Good catch on the vandalism. It would be useful, however, if you added something to the offender's talk page. I've done so in this case. -- BillWeiss | Talk 06:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

The move of Fuji (company)

I've already gone ahead and done the move to List of Fujifilm products. I believe the move is uncontraversial. Fuji (company) now redirects to Fujifilm. I've thus removed the page from Wikipedia:requested moves. Helicoptor 03:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

EV Nova date

Yeah, sorry about that; I was reverting one edit and accidently reverted yours. Whoopsie! EVula 15:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm not completely sure what happened there. All I did was fix the date and that silly line reappeared. All I can think of was that while I was making my edit someone else edited the other line, though I'm not sure why it didn't report an edit conflict. Oh well, all is well now. :) -- Hawaiian717 16:52, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Hawaiian Airlines fleet chart

Hi, I saw your conversation on User_talk:Golich17 about the fleet chart for Hawaiian Airlines. I thought I'd point you toward the format that I used for the United Airlines fleet chart. If you want I can go ahead and put together the chart for Hawaiian.. just let me know.. —Cliffb 08:47, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Interesting. That might work. I can't confirm how to define each type, but looking at the numbers I could guess which are which: the 3 252 seat aircraft are probably N580HA-N582HA, the three aircraft originally intended for Ansett, the four 259 seat aircraft would be N583HA-N586HA, the ex-LTU aircraft, and the remaining aircraft would be the new aircraft leased from Boeing and AWAS with the 777-style interiors. This is just a guess though based on how the number of each seating configuration line up with the numbers from each set of aircraft, but I don't know of any source that would confirm this. -- Hawaiian717 14:54, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Sarah lorondeau

I've replaced your prod tag with an AfD since this article has been speedied at least once before. You are welcome to add your comments here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sarah lorondeau. Rklawton 15:12, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

New Page Patrol

Hi! I'm doing New Page Patrol with you today, and I've noticed that you're tagging a number of articles with {{nonsense}}. However, the nonsense criterion is to be used only when the text is "unsalvageably incoherent". Thus, articles about some kid's mom or articles about the new cool word some kids made up are not nonsense in the CSD sense. They're sure to be deleted, yes, but not by that criterion. The article about the kid's mom could be tagged with {{db-bio}}; articles about slang can be tagged with either {{db-nocontext}} or, if they're longer and more developed, {{prod}} with a reason of "WP:NEO" or "WP:NFT". Some users (myself included) are incredibly picky about how the criteria for speedy deletion are used. The articles should be deleted, so it's not a really big deal, but you might want to re-read WP:CSD for more clarification. Anyway, keep up the good work and happy editing! -- Merope Talk 18:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I sometimes get a bit overzealous with tagging for deletion. I will try to be more careful about selecting criteria and using PROD or AfD when appropriate. -- Hawaiian717 18:45, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I think "overzealous" was my exact word when I had another editor point out my CSD issues a few months back. :) Again, it's not a big deal--the stuff you're tagging is crap--but rules are rules. -- Merope Talk 19:00, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I see the problem now. I'm confusing {{db-nonsense}} with {{db-crap}} -- which we don't seem to have. ;) -- Hawaiian717 19:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

HERO Propaganda on Go! articles

Yea, what a mess. Did anyone read WP:NPOV? I decided to just go in and start a cleanup. Probably more will need to be deleted, but time will tell. If the extra material gets added back in, then one of the POV templates will need to be added. Vegaswikian 18:39, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

I think I'm finished with go! The only action that may be needed is to add the formation lawsuits to the end of the history section with a lower level heading. This will allow that information to grow in one place and leave the normal history cleaner looking for most readers. Vegaswikian 19:06, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Speedy criteria

Did you know that G11 is for spam? Works great on company spam articles. Vegaswikian 23:00, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I did. This one didn't strike me as overly spammy though, but rather a simple no assertion of notability for a company. If you look up on my talk page, I actually had tagged it for speedy once before, but before no assertion of notability was a CSD for companies, and I never got around to prod/AfDing it. I'm more likely to use CSD G11 if it's full of marketing speak and/or actually attempts to assert notability but pretty clearly isn't. -- Hawaiian717 23:15, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks -- I edited the recreated article. NawlinWiki 15:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

why are you?

adding those speedy deletion tags???

remove it, this image is been used in Beyoncé's article as I posted, it is needed and it is free content, because the link cannot be used in wikipedia (the link to the site, RIAA.com) Eduemoni 00:11, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

You cant link any address from RIAA site because some restrictions, why dont you stop deleting randomly things and start to improve the articles, and help the users to find the right way to post things?
RIAA is an publicy agency (non-governmental), because it is viewable to everyone and this organization is like an TV-Channel or an Radio Station, so it is free content
Eduemoni 00:49, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
DID YOU SEE THE (non-governmental)???

Central African Republic

Click here: Lists of companies#C; as you can see, every country has a list and every company has a category. Please remove the prod tag. --McTrixie 21:22, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that. I removed the prod tag. The concept of having these lists seems a bit silly to me when we also have the categories, which are also easier to maintain, but that's another issue for another day... -- Hawaiian717 21:25, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for removing the tag. As far as lists and categories are concerned, the lists can accept any typed entry, including companies that have no articles; whereas the categories of course consist only of companies with written articles. Furthermore, the lists are useful as a general study aid and as a reference for those who write articles about companies. --McTrixie 21:31, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Fashion blogs

Hang on Speedy Gonzales, don't delete the Fashion Blogs article!

In the Wikipedia entry on blog, there are links to Political Blogs, Travel Blogs and Law Blogs.

Fashion blogs have been around since 2001, and fashion bloggers as citizen journalists were invited to this year's New York Fashion Week. A Factiva search reveals newspaper reports on Fashion Blogs dating from 2002 in national mastheads such as NY Times and Washington Post.

This is a genuine cultural phenomenon and the author is compiling the research for the article.

You might not read fashion blogs, but millions of people around the world do. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mercurius (talkcontribs) 12:18, 17 November 2006 (UTC-8) And here comes the signature ;) Mercurius 20:33, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Star Trek Article

Hawaiian717 you seem to be a good editor whith your heart in the right place; however, you seemed to push and your opionion with the deletion of the Han Solo example used in the article Star Trek: The Original Series. The paragraph was used as an example of why changing works of art are contraversial. There was nothing in the paragraph that was against Wikipedia standards or policies. Understand that the article is a Star Trek page but most Star Trek fans are familiar with Star Wars and the paragraph servered as a good example with familiar material. Please use discussion pages prior to such deletion actions so that we have a consensus. Thanks FrankWilliams 01:47, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

CheapTickets

Good work there, CheapTickets will certainly now avoid speedy deletion. If someone were to nominate it for deletion it might suffer for lack of a "first this," "third largest that" sort of flavour, just for completeness I say. I'm happy enough now to let eventualism work its magic, and I much appreciate the note. - brenneman 22:34, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Hawaiian and Aloha establishment date

I changed the establishment dates on these to be consistent with the way it is handled on the hundreds of other airlines articles. In the case of Hawaiian Airlines, Inter Island Airways was in fact established in 1929. It should have an article of its own detailing its work from 1929 until it became known as Hawaiian Airlines in 1941. The same goes for Trans Pacific Airlines (1946 establishment) and Aloha (1958). Perfectly logical and applied throughout the airlines area. Ardfern 18:50, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

You are so right about this! Thanks for catching that. The book has been cited wrong for a while, then; the ISBN I put in is numerically closer to what was there originally, but, yours is right for the actual book cited. Kind Regards, Keesiewonder talk 17:15, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Ah ... Is this the ISBN for the Round Two book? 0-9653993-2-2 If you're 100% certain it is correct, I know how to put it in so SmackBot does not complain about it. Let me know, and then you can see the "trick." Keesiewonder talk 17:19, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
  • The ISBN clean-up group has developed a tag for ISBNs such as this one that are reported as being invalid as published. They are invalid because their internal check digit does not pan out. But, since the publisher released the book with the number, many feel the ISBN is still useful. I've appended the ISBN you have for the book we've been talking about. I agree in this case, the OCLC is more useful. Inserting the invalid as published ISBN inside a tag like this {{Listed Invalid ISBN|0-9653993-2-2}} prevents SmackBot from complaining about this particular ISBN again in the future. If you don't want the ISBN displayed at all, you may, of course, remove it. If you like it, you can insert in in the other article that cites this same book. Hope this helps, Keesiewonder talk 18:09, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

If your going to keep the US Airways and America West fleet totals seperate you might want to remove the link that goes to US Airways current fleet. Unspecified source for Image:AtlanticSoutheastAirlinesLogo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:AtlanticSoutheastAirlinesLogo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC). I see you have read my artical and i dont know why you people have to act like this because it is not nonsense i am eric moore so i think i know what i did and if you dont belive it then to bad thats your problem not mine and besides you cant prove its rong but anyways this is the exact reason i put you people here. so leave it delete not my problem your the one stuck in a horrible repetive life on this planet not me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superericmoore (talkcontribs) 16:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC-8)

can you prove it wrong...no and as if you have contributied so much USFUL information about somthing IMPORTENT. information is about expanding your understanding of the universe its about questioning the veary existence of it. So you rather belive that all life came from NOTHING rather than was moved from a differnt soler system. do you have any idea about how much of science is theries and cant be proved, nonsense is a matter of opinion in this subject. The big bang theory is nonsense to me do you see me deleting it of course not because i respect the thought it produces besides its not hurting anyone. and besides if infinty does exist then the situation i wrote did happen(think about it) so it may not be true here in this dimintion or galexy but is somewhere else. also it is not your problem the article never hurt you and it never will it might be wikipedias problem but not yours so dont worry about it, and what you where doing suching eric moore i can only guess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superericmoore (talkcontribs) 01:00, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Talk:Wikiproject Airlines

You wrote "That's a completely different discussion that has been had several times before at AfD. Let's not have it again here." I'm not sure if you are referring to my statedly personal POV that these lists are not suited to wikipedia or to my assertion that the articles should be intelligible. Can you please point me to the AFD discussion so I can read up? Thank you.LeadSongDog (talk) 18:02, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AirNZ Logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:AirNZ Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:22, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Typo redirect 'Voyage of the Basset'

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on 'Voyage of the Basset', by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because 'Voyage of the Basset' is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting 'Voyage of the Basset', please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Air Greenland and Miami Air International

Are you sure that their IATA code are both GL? I have thought that an IATA code can't be assigned twice. I checked on http://www.airlinecodes.co.uk/airlcoderes.asp and it says that GL is only assigned to Air Greenland. And yet I look at another site http://www.airtimetable.com/IATA_airline_codes.asp and it says that, indeed, you are right. It frankly puzzels me. Before you know it DL will belong to another airline! Lol! -RokinRyan

I couldn't find Miami Air either, and it makes sense why they would both use GL. And I wonder, what would they do if Miami Air started scheduled service? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RokinRyan (talkcontribs) 20:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Personally I do not know how to make it into a template form

Additonally to find out the information that I have listed one would have to click into 40 different links. This needs to be kept simple so. Additionally it is talking about holding company history so I will be replaciing the information onto Trans World Corporation until someone seems fit to assit with creating a template. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.215.26.146 (talk) 17:31, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Going to mention too

when you create a new template, you may want to include the IATA two letter codes, because as you are probably aware airlines change their names at the drop of a hat. However the TWO Letter IATA codes are a lot harder to change... airlines really have screw up like they did in the Pan Am Systems case.

For historians it is far easier to trace an airlines history by IATA code some times rather then by the name. 63.215.26.146 (talk) 02:42, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Note the DOT assigns two letter codes too for example Hooters Air, when it was operating scheduled charters under its own brand used a two letter DOT code rather then the true IATA code of Pace airlines whose planes it was outsourced from. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.215.26.146 (talk) 02:45, 26 January 2008 (UTC) 63.215.26.146 (talk) 02:47, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Where Silence Has Lease

Thanks for your comment of November - sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I had planned to edit the entry down to get it within standard guidelines, but work and real life conspired to stop me. I will be working on it in the near future, however, unless someone else has already started to do so. Thanks! --Vortex (talk) 14:18, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
