Havenstreet is a village on the Isle of Wight, located about 2 miles southwest of Ryde.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway Museum is in Havenstreet, along with a station. Every year, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway runs a "Santa Express" train from Wooton to Havenstreet, which is a center of Christmas-related activities.
In 1917, John Willis Fleming, of Stoneham Park House, Hampshire, built a pair of ‘war memorials’, at North Stoneham near Eastleigh, and at Havenstreet, at a cost of 912 pounds. These war memorials were to honor the memory of his son Richard Fleming who had been killed in World War I, and be a memorial to all those who were killed in that war.
Public transport is provided by Southern Vectis which operates route 29 and Wightbus which operates route 33, both of which run between Newport and Ryde.[1][2]
