[edit] Requested move

Hapoel Be'er Sheva F.C. → Hapoel Beersheba F.C. — Just like Beitar Yerushalayim is Beitar Jerusalem in English, and Hapoel Akko is Hapoel Acre in English, Be'er Sheva is Beersheba in English —NYC2TLV 09:21, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.
  • Oppose Just like the cases of S.S.C. Napoli and Torino F.C., a football club's name does not have to follow the English name for the city. The club is widely known in the english speaking world as Hapoel Be'er Sheva. If anything the article for the city should be moved to Be'er Sheva as Beersheba is really an English biblical name, whereas Be'er Sheva is the current (and most common) usage. Number 57 14:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Comment I did a little research and find that actually the club's name in English is indeed Hapoel Beersheba. That is the name they used when they played FC Barcelona and the name that is used in the Jerusalem Post, an Israeli English language newspaper? -NYC2TLV 03:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
      • If you compare the two on the main three English language new sources in Israel (Haaretz, the Jerusalem Post and Ynetnews) you get 59 for Hapoel Be'er Sheva and 8 for Hapoel Beersheba. Number 57 10:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Support I agree that this article should be moved. The club has played in Europe under the title Hapoel Beersheba. -SpeechFreedom 08:44, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Hapoel Be'er Sheva.jpg

Image:Hapoel Be'er Sheva.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
