Hands On Support

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hands on Support is an initiative set up by the British Government to provide face to face training on the use of information technology for effective teaching and learning for education professionals. The initiative ran from April 2004 until April 2006.

Local Education Authorities around the country implemented the initiative in different ways. Some gave funding directly to schools, while others retained funding (with schools' permission) and employed staff directly.

Nottinghamshire LA employed 3 consultants with the Hands On Support funding.

Telford LA retained their consultants so that the work could continue after April 2006. They have a website for use by teachers [1]
