The Halifax Mooseheads are a junior ice hockey team in the Eastern Division of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They are based in Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, Canada. The team was originally owned by Moosehead Breweries, then sold to former NHLer Bobby Smith in 2003. The Mooseheads have been a huge success at the gate, regularly placing as one of the top two Q League teams for attendance [1].

The Mooseheads were founded for the 1994-95 QMJHL season, and were the first major junior team based in Atlantic Canada. The team hosted the 2000 Memorial Cup tournament, where they finished in third place. The Mooseheads twice appeared in the QMJHL league finals. In the 2003 finals, they lost to the Hull Olympiques (in seven games) and again in the 2005 finals to the Rimouski Oceanic (in four games).
