[edit] Sade - Teen Muhurt

I have added this sub-head for the benfit of users, so that ordinary public not having the knowledge should not be misled. Hindu system of Muhurt is a vast knowledge, and should not be used with ignorance or by general rules which are having exceptions. I am author of "Hindu Electional Astrology" so feel like to educate the masses. Users may please see my contribution in electional astrology in wikipedia

[edit] Padva: origin of the word

I am not sure how correct is the speculation about connection between Padva and Pradurbhu. As per my knowledge Padva originated from 'Pratipada' - first day of the fortnight. That is why Diwali also has one Padva.

Can you give reference to where you found the link between Padva and Pradurbhu? Also, Pardurbhu, just means to 'to come to exist'. It does not mean 'crop' or anything related to agriculture.

I was going to remove the mention but thought it is better to first put a note here and wait for a responce. --Kaveri 20:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bali???

Rama never fought with Bali. He fought with Ravana. The source {A Maharashtrain Spring Festival Accessed on 4 March, 2007} is not WP:Rs.--Redtigerxyz (talk) 06:02, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ram returning to Ayodhya?

Is this festival celebrated to mark Ram's return to Ayodhya?

I have heard a version that ties the entire concept of Gudhi with Shalivahan and the rebellion against the Huns.

All festivals always have multiple mythologies related to them and also some interpretations provided by the 'scholars' I think we should entertain all those interpretations and stories s no one is right or wrong. Generally the current nature of any gods, rituals, festivals is culmination of assimilation of various practices and beliefs. Kaveri (talk) 17:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
