[edit] WikiProject Alternative music August 2007 Newsletter

The Alternative music WikiProject Newsletter
Issue 5 - August 2007
"The amount of time it took to get Morrissey onstage was getting longer and longer. There was this great game he'd play of wanting to be asked 15 times if it had been 14 the night before. Johnny was like, 'Let's rock!' and Mozzer would be 'Well, somebody's gotta ask me another seven times.'" - Andy Rourke

[edit] Prose review

Well, technically I am the prose review (didn't go to college for that English degree for nuthin'), but yeah, I saw the notice. During the COTW there were some specific sentences that stuck out for me; I'll try to get around to it tomorrow. WesleyDodds 22:31, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

I actually haven't had time to review the article yet. Once I finish up with Wilco I'll take a look. That might take a day or two. WesleyDodds 04:27, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
One thing I have been thinking about: are all those genres in the infobox necessary? I don't think you necessarily need to pair it down to just alternative rock, but some of them seem superfluous, or seem like they can be covered by a broader term ie. alt-rock. As the infobox primarly describes his work as a solo artist, can a majority of his solo work be classified as funk rock like his work with the Chili Peppers can be? WesleyDodds 04:47, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing subsections from The Make-Up FAC

I just noticed that you removed the hide box from The Make-Up FLC. Use of the hidebox isn't forbidden, especially since I've received the user's blessings. The hidebox doesn't split the article into subsections at all, so it still preserves Raul's ability to archive the FAC, as far as I know. I just had a conversation on the FAC talk page about this very thing, and I'm pretty sure the hide boxes are ok as long as its done with the User's blessing. I'll avoid reverting your edit until I hear back from you. Thanks. Drewcifer 00:44, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
