I've been thinking a lot about the granddaddy article: Red Hot Chili Peppers. I know, I know, I'm extremely skeptical too, but we also felt this way about Flea. In the beginning I didn't think the article would ever reach the state of quality it's in now. I know 10 times more work would be involved but I'm game if you are. Once we're completely done with Flea (which won't be a walk in the park, either) we can take a break and hopefully attempt the RHCP page. What do you think? NSR77 ^T_C 20:42, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

No, not yet. I've been really busy lately doing important things (partying). Haha, but yeah I'd love to work on Red Hot Chili Peppers considering it would say a lot about the RHCP WikiProject. That's pretty ironic. The movie used to be on my large list of favorites but was removed not long after, when I stopped listening to punk. My favorite movie of all time has always been Dazed and Confused; fuckin love it. Yeah, I realize the Chili Peppers article is in better shape than Flea's was, but a lot of the information is convoluted and overall it is not very long (especially considering the ridiculously plot-twisting history the band has behind them). The Apter book is like one long Chili Peppers Wikipedia article so it'll be extremely helpful. It has quotes from all over the place, reviews from North Pole to South Pole and even continues after the making of BTW. Of course, Scar Tissue will need a consulting as well as the extensive array of magazine articles and publications that pertain to the relative eras. Fuck, I'm getting overwhelmed just thinking about it. The good news, though, is that after Flea is finished up we can use bits and pieces from both his and Frusciante's Music Style section for inclusion into the Chili Peppers' overall music style (which should be massive). I'm relatively free most of this weekend, especially Saturday, so we can get to work then, if you're free. Did you want to jump right into RHCP after Flea or do something in between/chill for a bit? There's this one Family Guy episode (too many to know which one) where Brian does the same thing, except a lot more child-molester-esque. I'm not saying Matthew McConaughey isn't really ridiculously "old-guy-trying-to-get-high-school-girls", but...yeah. Linklater's probably my favorite director; I've seen all his stuff. Unfortunately. I miss school (as crazy as it sounds). I've been so happy ever since I transferred to UCLA, which is the city where I belong. Plus the pot in Connecticut was never very good. I actually live the 'burbs of NY, but its so much easier to just say NY because most people don't know CT is even that close to NYC and then I have to explain. I'm here until mid January. The other night I went to an electronica show in the city and at the after party Daft Punk made a special appearance. I was happy as a clam. :)NSR77 ^T_C 08:05, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't think I'm pothead. God I hope not. I enjoy it on occasion, but always in moderation. I've done a fair share of things in my life but refuse to ever put a needle into myself and hardcore drugs I just find horrible and won't ever try them. Give you mad props for being that way, man. I'll only do natural things, like pot or mushrooms. I've slowed down a ton since going to College. My life is pretty boring compared to most of my friends, haha. Dazed and Confused just seemed to strike a chord with me for some reason. That and Trainspotting are probably my all time favorites. Reservoir Dogs is also up there. I'll do that now; he states this is the wonderful Mojo article. As for Niandra Lades, I think its in the best shape we can get it in. And on the note of Flea: I've been toying with the idea of simply adding an entirely new section titled "TV and Movie appearances" which could also include various RHCP appearances. I finished adding a shit-load of information. I'm sure you'll still want to weed through the internet (when you can) and find some obscure sources to help add even more and, not to mention, copyedit everything because I'm not writing very well this month. Hopefully things are relatively complete. I'm going to search for some additional photographs to be included in the article and write the Television and move appearances section sometime tomorrow; it'll be relatively brief. Glad to see you (somewhat) back. I put up Niandra Lades, as you saw, because it was just sitting like a lame-duck. It seems that right when you come back from Hawaii I'm going on vacation to Paris. I'll bring my laptop of course and edit at my hotel but not frequently. With Niandra Lades taking about a week or so, that should be perfect timing to put up Flea; everything works out great. Haha. Sorry, it's just become almost compulsory to wikilink things. Sometimes I'll find myself adding four tildes after a message when talking to someone online. Hawaii has always sounded rad. I've been to Paris a couple times and love it; mainly because I can speak French, so people don't look at me like I'm a stupid American. The only reason I added it was because Frusciante, at the time, went on and on about how on every track he heard ghosts. He's a major oddball no doubt about it (and only toned down a tiny bit now), but its still significant to note his urgency. Where the fuck do you work? I would've fired you by now, slacker. Flea can marinate for a few days after the Niandra Lades FAC. I've asked both Wesley and CloudNine to take a look at it and they're (hopefully) in the process of doing that. If you really want to do a copyedit and find the time or location, such as the library I guess, go for it. It's waiting for ya. NSR77 ^T_C 22:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

I like it the way it is, personally. I think it's fine with Flea throughout. I too was pretty surprised by the Niandra Lades FAC, but overjoyed at the same time. The Funky Monks photograph is there for no good reason, really. I tried to find a screenshot today but couldn't locate a good one for the life of me. They're all dark, blurry and small. Nah, I'm not pissed you didn't see them. They're definitely not a band that appeals to many people our age, anymore. I'm seeing My Bloody Valentine, though, in Santa Monica sometime in the next four months (I honestly forgot when). Really psyched for that, and Stereolab and Echo and the Bunnymen. I've not been to SLC in many, many years--going back would be really rad. My schedule is really full these days, though. I'm in NY until late June, then back home for two weeks, then off to Miami for a week, then home for four days, then London for two weeks (I think), and then Cannes for five days and back home for another week before going to Seattle for two days and home again for the rest of the summer. BUT, in news: John's new album is supposedly in the mastering stages! Makes me live a few more days carefree. NSR77 ^T_C 01:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Additionally, with the promotion of Radiohead, U2 and R.E.M., half of our Top Importance articles now have featured article status. Well done to Atlantik, Brandt Luke Zorn, CloudNine, the various WikiProject Powderfinger editors, Merbabu, WesleyDodds, Teemu08, NSR77 and Grim-Gym. The discographies of Dischord Records and Load Records reached featured list status during the past month. Well done to Drewcifer3000 (who wrote both featured lists). Powderfinger discography reached featured topic status during the past month. Well done to the various WikiProject Powderfinger editors. We collaborated on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Franz Ferdinand (band), PJ Harvey and Michael Stipe during the past month. During the month of January, Rage Against the Machine, Pick Up the Pace, "Lost and Running", Bernard Fanning, Year Zero (album), Jon Coghill, "Losing My Religion" and "Touch Me I'm Sick" were promoted to good article status. Sign up for our B-class article drive on the project talk page! The goal is to increase a number of the project's B-class articles to GA or FA status within two months. The B-class article drive will run from February 1 to April 1, 2008. This month's "Recommended Alternative Album" is My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything (1988).

"God is in your scrotum!'"- Perry Farrell Project news This month was the first in over a year in which no articles were promoted to featured article status. In the period between March 2007 and April 2008, the project produced a whopping 70 Featured Articles. Let's keep adding to those numbers! Pearl Jam was featured on the Main Page on April 22. We collaborated on My Bloody Valentine, The Queen Is Dead, Double Nickels on the Dime and Ten (Pearl Jam album) during the past month. During the month of April, Diorama (album), Editors, Neon Bible, Ghosts I–IV, "Yes! I Am a Long Way from Home" and "Who Really Cares (Featuring the Sound of Insanity)" were promoted to good article status. This month's "Recommended Alternative Album" is Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out (1997).
